Last March 7, 2012, Procter and Gamble launches their partnership with International Olympic Committee for the 2012 London Olympics in an event entitled “Thank you Mom for seeing the Hero in me”. This year, the two collaborated to go beyond supporting the athletes to honoring the loving mothers behind their success.

President Peping Cojuangco, Jr. of the Philippine Olympic Committee in his solidarity message commends this thrust in recognizing not only the athletes but also the mothers, their tower of strength. He further stressed how crucial full support is to the Philippines’ representatives in their physical, mental and emotional preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

To name one, Mark Anthony Barriga, 18 years old, the country’s first qualified athlete competing in light flyweight boxing, was introduced in the launch. He is the youngest against more experienced boxers in this division. He is currently trained by retired boxer Roel Velasco who won the bronze medal in the light flyweight division at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and is also the elder brother of Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco Jr. who won silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta in the same weight division. Mark also wishes to make the Philippines proud hoping to bring home the gold.

P&G is generous enough not only sponsoring Mark to the 2012 London Olympics, but also giving his mom as a nice surprise, that Momsky will be joining Mark in London as he battles for the gold.

As part of the event, Kris and Momsky acknowledge every mom and awarded medals to all the mothers present in the evening.

Kris also shared her experiences with her mom and  her as a mother…

Sometimes or most of the times, we feel embarrassed saying “Thank You” or “I love You” to our moms. Believe me, that is all they’ve been wanting to hear from us. So take this time to say “Thank You” or “I love you” to your mom and include your dad as well. We never know until  when will they be with us.

To my Mom and Dad, Thank you for everything, I may not be the perfect daughter but for me you are the perfect parents, and I thank God for having you guys. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!
