There is much to be discovered in the vast underwater world. Since the ocean covers about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface, you’ll definitely find there diverse and breathtaking underwater gardens and marine wildlife.
Craving for some Japanese dishes? Karaage, Ebi, Sukiyaki and more? You might want to check out and try Japan’s number one Tempura Tendon chain, Tenya, with their newly launched farm to table menu… TENYA LOKAL. I have tried some of it and they are 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.
With TENYA LOKAL menu, it’s not just offering good and delicious Japanese meals, it was also made for a good cause too. That is to help local food producers may it be from poultry, vegetables, fish and meat sectors and use these as raw materials in their restaurants all over the Philippines.
The CALABARZON region is a melting pot of industries, residential areas, and tourist destinations. You’ll never run out of delightful spots to visit. You can learn about our country’s history and culture when you go to this southern respite. Take Calamba, Laguna as an example. While it is a booming city and a suitable suburban area for professionals braving the traffic of Metro Manila for growth opportunities, the city has plenty of exciting spots for tourists and locals to enjoy. And before you think about different hot springs resorts, take a look at these five destinations you should visit in Calamba.
Well, it’s finally spring in Canada. Winter’s in the rear-view mirror, and everyone is starting to think about the happier, friendlier things, like planting flowers, staying outside later, and enjoying the warmer weather. In some regions, spring gets too hot too fast and really starts reminding us of summer already. Then, when summer finally comes, it’s just unbearable.
Singapore, also known as the “Lion City”, is one of the countries that I want to visit in Asia. Have you seen Changi Airport? which I may say is the coolest and amazing airport in the world. The moment you step into that place, you will already see and feel how progressive this country is. It’s actually a tourist destination itself. A destination that you might want to inlclude in your bucket list.
Though Singapore is quite small geographically compared to other asian countries(724.2 square kilometres or 279.6 sq mi.), the urban planning is well executed from transportation, utilities, zonings, without neglecting the importance of nature. Imagine a city full of skyscrapers and filled with lush greenery. Wouldn’t that be a nice view right?
On the other hand, with SG’s low population count compared to other asian countries which is estimated at 5.8 million people at mid year of 2020 according to UN data, this country became highly interested in acquiring and entertaining new residents and labor force. Companies and businesses are even offering high-paying jobs and remunerative salary packages to attract great talents, highly-skilled workers and professionals all over the world.
So if you’re one of those people who are looking into this country as a place to work and live long-term, it is highly understandable. Considering that it is one of the safest places in the world to live in and one of the t places to grow your career. It’s a no-brainer if you’ll ask me.

I love to cook and eat. Whenever I’m in our kitchen and there’s limited ingredients in our refrigerator, I improvise and experiment what I can do. For me it is just easy, as long as I have sauces available to add flavor to my improvised dish or at least a good sauce or “sawsawan” is a must. Then I will pair it with steamy hot rice? UHHHMM! YUMMMY!(Even though I’m limiting my rice intake already, I WILL DEFINITELY EAT! hahaha!)
On the other hand, us Filipinos, when we are eating a certain dish, even though it’s already flavourful, we would still add condiments and sauces to enhance the taste. And you what? got some cool news for you. Because Heinz, a global leader in condiments since 2012(same brand as the tomato ketchup that we love), just made more of their sauces available here in the Philippines and Asia. Heinz goes Asian!
From simple meals to gourmet dishes, Heinz Asian Sauces provide enhanced taste and premium flavours to your cooking. Heinz has been serving up quality, taste, convenience and innovation like no other food company on Earth. It has to be Heinz.
I tried using some of the Heinz Asian Sauces particulary the Heinz Blended Sesame Oil, Heinz Premium Oyster Sauce, and Heinz Garlic Chili Sauce during our food trip in a restaurant at Quezon City. I must say that I love them all. The extra flavor really blended well to my chosen ingredients. So excited to try other Heinz Asian Sauces and incorporate them to my cooking.
Heinz Asian Sauces are available in leading Robinsons Supermarkets, Unimart Supermarkets, Makatisupermart Alabang, All Day Supermarket, Citimart Supermarket, and Landmark Supermarkets. Check out the prices below.

It has been 8 years since I featured AQUAKNOX, a restaurant in Makati that offers delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Too bad it already closed down. There are other restaurants in the metro where you can still get a taste of Vietnamese cuisine like Phở Hōa and Ba Noi. But you know what?, a better idea is to actually visit Vietnam. Not only will you be able to try out “authentic” Vietnamese cuisine, but you will also enjoy these five unique experiences:
Try out canyoning in Dalat
Many visit Dalat to see its picturesque view. But if you want to go thrill-seeking, Culture Trip recommends that you try canyoning in this southern Vietnamese city. That means abseiling down breathtaking cliffs and waterfalls, sliding down natural water slides, and hiking challenging ravines. The experience is a certified adventure, especially if you summon the courage to take a wild trust fall from the so-called “washing machine” and into a torrent of gushing water.
Spend time at a traditional home stay
Travel blogger Janet Newenham describes this as a highlight of one of her Vietnam trips, and an experience unlike any other. In a traditional home stay, you get to spend some quality time with locals rather than in a hotel. More importantly, it can give you a firsthand glimpse of Vietnamese culture as lived by your hosts. Newenham sums up the experience of staying in a traditional home stay best:
“Seeing how the locals live, eating the food that they cook, and just appreciating the beauty of the landscape with no interruptions was by far one of the highlights of my entire trip to Vietnam.”
You can arrange your own home stay by getting in touch with companies like Vietnam Backpacker’s Hostel.
Ride a cyclo
The cyclo is a traditional Vietnamese vehicle introduced in Vietnam during the French colonial period. It has since been replaced by more modern modes of transportation, but there are still tourists spots in the country where you can hitch a ride on a cyclo. Most notable of these destinations is Hội An Old Town, which once was a thriving trading post in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, it is a UNESCO Heritage site, and a popular tourist attraction in Vietnam. Here, you can get around town on-board a cyclo, and see various Chinese temples, traditional markets, French colonial ancestral homes, old canals, and even a Japanese-designed bridge.
Visit a casino
A Vietnam Insider article about the casino boom in Southeast Asia reports that there is a recent rise in casino investment in Vietnam, including the Ho Tram Strip project. When completed, it will be a worthy addition to the various casinos already operational across the country. An ExpatBets guide to Vietnam’s casino industry details how the country has over 30 land-based establishments exclusive to foreigners. They offer the usual gaming options, plus a lot more. Aristo International, for instance, has world-class spas, while Palazzo Club boasts a pulsating nightspot and wine bar called Level 23. Club Royale, on the other hand, offers the best in-house entertainment by way of the Faces Lounge and Music Lounge. You can also chill at Liquid Sky Bar, or sing your heart out at private karaoke suites.
Crawl through the Viet Cong Secret Tunnels
The Củ Chi Tunnels are fascinating remnants of the Vietnam War. But as the feature ‘Vietnam’s Cu Chi Tunnels: A Wartime Legacy’ notes the 250-mile network of underground trenches are a testament to the ingenuity of the Vietnamese. Crawling through these tunnels is like revisiting the country’s wartime past, all while getting a close look at the resourcefulness of the locals. You can arrange for daytime tours of this historical site, which houses trapdoors, living quarters, kitchens, armories, command centers, and hospitals.

If you’ve been to Taiwan, you’ll know that milk teas, fruit juices and street food are a thing there. Of course that includes the famous big serving of crispy fried chicken. And if you haven’t tasted it yet, you know what? good news because MONGA, a Taiwanese-style fried chicken, is now available here in the Philippines!
So… who’s excited to try it?.
Created and established by Nono, a well-known Taiwanese comedian, this newly opened food establishment in SM Megamall(near Toy Kingdom) will surely entice and fill up every foodie’s palate with its well-spiced, big serving chicken especially one of their best-sellers… the spicy Chee-Z Signature- a must-try!. If you don’t want the spicy variant, you may choose the regular one. You may also upgrade it into a full meal set(with rice and drinks).
The Chee-Z Signature was the only chicken main meal that I tasted during the opening and thankfully got the right choice(will choose it again and try other flavors when I go back). Very worth it!. It’s big, crunchy, and the way the spices burst its flavors in my mouth. YUMMMMMY!. The cheese on top compliments well with the chicken and balances the spices with every bite😍
Monga also got different side dishes like seasoned fries, fried mushroom, fried brocoli, and chicken skin(oooh sooo tempting!) just to mention a few. I super love the fried broccoli, even though it was deep fried, the brocholi itself is not overcooked. And the serving is quite big as well for a side dish. ❤️❤️❤️
Your Taiwanese food trip will not be complete without milk tea and fruit juices. In fairness, their milk tea is not that sweet compared to other milk tea joint. And since I’m cutting my sugar intake, I would consider it. Hahaha. Will try more of Monga’s refreshments when I go back.
Overall, from what I tasted, I would recommend Monga to be on your list for your next food trip. It may be a bit pricey to some, but it is worth your bucks. No need to go to Taiwan just to munch on these chicken goodness!
For more information and updates about Monga, you may follow them on their Facebook Page www.facebook.com/mongaphilippines.
