The CALABARZON region is a melting pot of industries, residential areas, and tourist destinations. You’ll never run out of delightful spots to visit. You can learn about our country’s history and culture when you go to this southern respite. Take Calamba, Laguna as an example. While it is a booming city and a suitable suburban area for professionals braving the traffic of Metro Manila for growth opportunities, the city has plenty of exciting spots for tourists and locals to enjoy. And before you think about different hot springs resorts, take a look at these five destinations you should visit in Calamba.
Well, it’s finally spring in Canada. Winter’s in the rear-view mirror, and everyone is starting to think about the happier, friendlier things, like planting flowers, staying outside later, and enjoying the warmer weather. In some regions, spring gets too hot too fast and really starts reminding us of summer already. Then, when summer finally comes, it’s just unbearable.
The coworking space is home to the start-up, and for good reason. The costs are extremely low, and the environment is one that breeds creativity. With the diverse group of professionals, businesses benefit from an office environment that caters to entrepreneurship. In Manila, the coworking space can perform the same function as it does in other locations.
There are coworking spaces all over the country with Quezon City being one of the largest areas for business. However, Manila can be a great place to start your venture and simply because it provides businesses with coworking spaces in its CBD in Makati City but there are also trendier spaces around the city as well. When it comes to choosing a coworking space, Manila has a rich landscape of office space that can help your business succeed.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the reasons why Manila is a great place for coworking.
Finding The Best Location
Businesses can be successful in any location, but space located near areas that can potentially promote your industry is always best. Makati City, of course, is one of the more popular places as it boasts being in the centre of industry. Professionals who need to get near this area will be pleasantly surprised to find the centre of business is a great place to get started. However, the CBD is just one location where businesses can find traction in the economic landscape.
Plugging You Into Community
The coworking space also helps start-ups get connected to a community of professionals that can help plug you into the right community. The coworking space is more than just office space, and many businesses flourish in space that caters to providing a connection to other people and resources that can be of assistance. These businesses usually have an events calendar that is a part of the agenda, and as a part of business, professionals have the chance to engage other people.
Giving Your Business Structure
A person can begin a business on their dining room table, but the business is under attack by constant interrupters like children and spouses or even the television and other comforts of the home. If you are someone who loves being away from home, the café and coffee bar have similar distractions. In either case, it can be very difficult to lift a venture off the ground when the surroundings do not promote productivity.
However, the coworking space can because, first and foremost, the coworking space provides businesses with structure. Office space that has defined workspace and contains the tools of industry can help the start-up focus on the demands of work. Finally, the coworking space has been engineered to promote productivity, much like conventional office space has.
Building Up A Cache Of Associates
By participating in the coworking phenomenon, businesses have the chance to build lasting relationships. For one, there are numerous opportunities to meet mentors and other professionals can be a source of counsel. The diverse space can also be a resource in terms of building collaborating partners. All of these people can be the beginnings of an extensive list of business contacts that can be drawn on when needed. The coworking space is purported to be one of the best ways to reserve office space because it keeps costs low, but alternatively, for the price, the business receives a wealth of resources in terms of business relationships.
Mastering Manila’s Business Scene
Establishing a business in the country’s most well-known cities is no longer an unachievable feat. The coworking platform provides businesses with tools in terms of expertise that can be leveraged in several different ways. Businesses can leverage professional resources for information or they can work with people in creating partnership opportunities in the coworking space – something rarely found while isolated in a cubicle or small office.
While cycling is a fun, comfortable and enjoyable sport, it faces various limiting factors such as cycling routes. This is mostly affected by the environmental factors and terrain of the area of your residence.
However, you can enjoy your favorite hobby and sport by cycling through these amazing places. Get to enjoy the breath-taking scenery and adventure as you enjoy a group exercise or some alone time. Thus, here are 5 best places for casual biking in which you can enjoy scenic bike rides.
1. Great Divide Mountain – Canada
The Great Divide Mountain in Canada has a bike route about 2,700 miles long. This route contains breathtaking scenery of the mountains and surrounding vegetation. However, you should beware of mountain lions and bears, and the extreme and isolated parts.

South Africa has various biking routes, but the outstanding one is the Garden Route. This route contains breath-taking vistas and spectacular coastal settings along the way. You can start from Cape Town and ride through the 133-mile long distance of the Garden Route.
3. The Great Ocean Road – Australia
The Great Ocean Road borders one of the most dramatic coastlines worldwide. The 172-mile long road is great for long-distance biking and provides a beautiful scenery for cycling enthusiasts.
4. The Shimanami Kaido – Japan
This is a 40-mile long biking route good for taking family rides. The route snakes through scenic islands with gentle slopes and spectacular vistas. It provides a spectacular and amazing scenery where two and four-wheel riders can enjoy biking.

Riders can also enjoy various bike trails. After all, casual biking is not just about going for that ride. It is about sight-seeing, adventure and enjoying a great biking experience.
Whether you are single or has a family, working here in the Philippines or an OFW, buying your own house that you can call your own is definitely one of the life goals that you want to achieve in your lifetime.
I, myself wanted to have one. Even though I live with my parents and we owned the house, sooner or later I will get married and will live on my own with my husband to build our own family. Renting is an option for a start, but why rent if I can have my own.
But of course there are a lot of factors that you should consider when buying a house. If you would ask me what to consider before buying house, I would suggest following this checklist:
- Not sub-standard and well-built by a trusted contractor.
- Located on a FLOOD-FREE Area.
- Has payment schemes with the price as if you are just paying for a rent.
- Has a serene ambiance and nice view.
- Has own amenities and accessible to basic establishments such as schools, hospitals, markets, transportation terminals and many more.
Just recently, I was able to tour around METRO MANILA HILLS , a community subdivision which was developed by the New San Jose Builders, Inc. (NSJBI). The said community subdivision is situated at the foot of Sierra Madre, specifically in Rodriguez, Rizal, which gives its homeowners a glimpse of the longest mountain range in the Philippines. Wow!
And since the houses were built on hills, getting flooded during typhoons and monsoons is out of the picture.
If you haven’t heard about New San Jose Builders, Inc. (NSJBI), this construction firm also builts certain condominiums in the metro and nearby cities plus other subdivisions such as:
- Victoria de Makati
- Victoria de Malate
- Victoria de Manila
- Victoria de Morato
- Victoria Towers
- Fort Victoria
- Victoria Sports Towers
- Isabelle de Valenzuela
- Theresa Heights- Metro Manila Hills
- Victoria Villa
- Isabelle Terraces
NSJBI was granted with the highest accreditation by Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, that is why you’ll have their assurance for quality and safety. The property developer of Metro Manila Hills Communities also assured that they have used quality materials and products to develop the property.
Everything is also within reach in Metro Manila Hills. From the municipal hall to the hospital, and public market to central business districts, while remaining no-traffic and pollution free!
Moreover, with the vast land the property occupies, a great percentage is allocated to open spaces for parks, playgrounds, bike lanes, and walking & jogging paths, for the whole family to enjoy. Metro Manila Hills also boasts of its resort type clubhouse, basketball court, function areas, and resort-type swimming pool for its resident celebrations.
MMH also has a 20-meter wide and over a kilometer long lighted retail boulevard that runs through the center of the property with variety of shops from food, specialty, and hobby stores.
Metro Manila Hills communities offers various payment schemes that will help you have your dream of having a house. This is a very importatnt factor to consider since not all can afford to buy a house in full cash payment.
If you will wake up and go home everyday to this kind of view, maybe it’s worth it. Since the city already feels so congested with buildings, billboards, pollution, and traffic. Living in a community subdivision like Metro Manila Hills can be a breather from the concrete urban jungle that you are facing everyday. It may be quite far from the metro proper(well, for me), but don’t worry, they have a transportation hub where you can ride shuttles, tricycles to help you reach your preferred destination to and from the subdivision.
So did Metro Manila Hills got everything from our checklist which I mentioned earlier?
- Not sub-standard and well-built by a trusted contractor. CHECK ✔️
- Located on a FLOOD-FREE Area. CHECK ✔️
- Has payment schemes with the price as if you are just paying for a rent. CHECK ✔️
- Has a serene ambiance and nice view.CHECK ✔️
- Has own amenities and accessible to basic establishments such as schools, hospitals, markets, transportation terminals and many more. CHECK ✔️
Are you dreaming of a home tailored for the Asian in you? Then you must see Victoria Villas! Or perhaps, you want to wake up to a fantastic view of Rizal mountains from the wide front porch of Theresa Heights?

Pampanga, originated from the word “pangpang or pampang” which means “riverbank”, is known for its vast contribution in history, heritage and even exemplary culinary creations-the reason why the province is called the “Culinary Capital of the Philippines”. If you’ve been to Pampanga, then most probably you’ll know what I mean. (Now I’m craving for Sisig!-one of Pampanga’s popular dishes).
This 218,100-hectare province located in the central part of Luzon houses 20 municipalities, which were divided into 4 districts. Pampanga’s main industries are farming and fishing- producing specifically rice, corn, sugarcane and tilapia. Wood carving, handicraft, furniture making are some other popular industries as well. To add on to these are handcrafted lighted lanterns, or popularly known as “Parol” here in the Philippines.
It’s been a while since I last visited and toured Pampanga. And just recently, NorthPine Land Inc., one of the country’s trusted real estate companies, organized a blogger’s familiarity tour and invited me to experience the beauty of Pampanga once again.
Despite the bad weather, the tour pushed through as scheduled and did not stop us from enjoying. It was a smooth and informative drive all the way to Pampanga as we were primed with some of Pampanga’s history and other general facts by our tour guide, Sir Richard Burgos.
MONTANA STRANDS MODEL PARK
For our first stop, we headed to the Northpine Land’s Montana Strands Model Park. Just in case you didn’t know, Northpine Land Inc. also built several other community real estate projects not just in Pampanga, but also in nearby locations such as follows:
- CAVITE: Kahaya Place, Greenwoods Village, Wind Crest, Kohana Grove
- LAGUNA: South Hampton
- ANTIPOLO: Forest Ridge
- PASIG City: Lexington
- PAMPANGA: Montana Views, Montana Strands
Going back to the tour, I was able to see three of the 4 model houses-Madison, Sandy, and Trinity(Ruby not included), each were fully furnished and has complete set-up that will give every possible buyers and visitors the feel and ambiance of a home.
The Montana Strands’s actual retro-modern-inspired community is located at Brgy. Calulut in San Fernando City Pampanga, which is just 1.5 kilometers away from NLEX Mexico Exit. Thank God for expressways! it’s much easier to reach it in less time.
Northpine Land Inc. also just recently had their groundbreaking rites for their Lifestyle Hub that will soon rise at the Montana Views property. The said Lifestyle Hub will give different provisions to its homeowners such as Basketball court, Fitness Center, Children’s Playground, Swimming Pool, a Wifi-equipped Lifestyle center, Function/Multipurpose area, Kid’s playroom, entertainment room and snack bar. Wow! so much in store for every homeowners of Montana Views!
“In over 20 years, Northpine Land remains as a groundbreaker of innovations. We create lifestyle options that enhance the quality of living. This Lifestyle hub is probably one of the best amenities Northpine is bound to create. We are excited to see this rise in the near future.” says Ferdinand Macabanti, NLI General Manager
ROLREN’S LANTERNS AND GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Christmas is fast approaching! in just a few days, aside from hearing Christmas carols, we will see lots of colorful lanterns hanging from the street lights, houses and establishments. Speaking of lanterns, Pampanga is best known for this craft not just in the Philippines, but also to some parts of the world. It is also where the famous Giant Lantern Festival is happening every December.
For our 2nd stop, we went to Rolren’s Lanterns and General Merchandise, one of the largest parol suppliers in PH.
The story of this Parol business is very humbling. Just imagine, before venturing into this industry, Rolando “Parol King” Quiambao, 0wner of Rolren’s Lanterns was a former Janitor and OFW. He even worked as a jeepney driver.
He started a small lantern business in 1986. 5 years later, his business took off. But nature has taken its toll, Mt. Pinatubo’s violent eruption has taken Pampanga into a catastrophic situation. After the devastating wrath of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991, mayor Reynaldo Aquino commisioned Mr. Rolando to decorate the city’s lamp posts, making those lanterns a symbol of hope, especially those who were directly affected by the disaster.
Rolren’s Lanterns and General Merchandise sells different kinds of parols made of different materials. They have lanterns made of capiz, they have wooden christmas symbols and many more. And the best part is… it is way affordable. About Php300-Php1000 difference from those selling in the metro.

Lunch time! Time to taste once again some authentic and mouth-watering Kapampangan dishes. It was a different kind of outdoor dining experience as we savour on good food in the middle of a fish pond at Apag Marangle, which means “hain sa bukid”. I love the ambiance of the place, it’s like you are in a farm, very native.
I love their Ginisang Mais soup with crunchy chicharon. I could eat that all day! Their Crispy pata is also superb! and lastly, the Ginataang camote dessert is ❤️❤️❤️.

SAN FERNANDO TRAIN STATION MUSEUM
Built 1892, the San Fernando Railway Station is part of the 195-kilometer railway system of Ferrocarril de Manila-Dagupan, the first railway system in the Philippines and one of the 5 train stations which can be found in Pampanga.
The place also has some shares in the history. This place is where Dr. Jose Rizal meet the new members of La Liga Filipina from Pampanga, June 27th, 1982. Another one, do you remember the 102-kilometer Philippine Death March which happened year 1942? where Filipino and American prisoners of war during World War 2, marched from Bataan to Capas, Tarlac. In this very place, San Fernando Railway Station, became their final stop before the prisoners were transferred to the Camp O’Donnell. Whew! this place really gave me chills.
Year 1988, the said train system operations ended. And today, the old railway station became a historical museum through the efforts of the local government, which houses different items, memorabilia, and even statues illustrating the scenarios of the past which happened in this exact location.

CLARK MUSEUM & 4D THEATRE
Another place to enrich your knowledge. Clark Museum. This museum houses different displays, artifacts, replicas, scenic dioramas from war-based history during American occupation specifically in Clark Pampanga including the ancient lives of Filipino locals (pre-colonial and post-colonial-after revolution). Not just that. Remember the Mt. Pinatubo Explosion?, one of the greatest and violent volcano eruption in the world, Clark Museum has a handful of information on that matter and how Clark rised up from the ashes, it’s economic progress and many more.
They also have quite a bunch of art gallery collection where different paintings and even sculptures created by local artists are for sale. Such beautiful creations.
One of the highlights in our tour within Clark Museum was the 4D Theatre. It’s a 48-seater theatre that offers a different kind of learning experience. There, we watch the “Risen from the Ashes”, a 20- minute documentary film which highlights Clark Pampanga’s rich history up to the present. The Clark Museum and 4D theater is open from Tuesdays to Sundays(9:00 am to 4:00 pm).

MATAM-IH AUTHENTIC KAPAMPANGAN CUISINE RESTAURANT
And for our last stop, another restaurant that offers a wide-range of authentic Kapampangan dishes, Matam-ih Authentic Kapampangan Cuisine Restaurant which is located at Clark Freeport Zone. True to its meaning, “Matam-Ih” which means “delicious” in Aeta dialect, really delivers mouth-watering food to crave for. And for the record, I super love their Kare-kare! Matam-ih! They also offer exotic dishes made of crocodile, frog, and even kamaru. uuuugh!. I only tried a little of the fried crocodile meat and it was ok. I’m still psyched with the other two. I just can’t. Haha!
We also challenged a fellow blogger, Rain De Ocampo to try out the crocodile meat. Hahahah it was hilarious! Another fun part was, Northpine Land Inc. awarded some food GCs to those who tried eating at least one of the exotic dishes.
Their food attendants on the other hand, are genuine members of the Aeta and Abelling indigenous communities of Capas which I find very nice. Nice in the sense that Matam-ih restaurant is giving employment and is helping them to make a living.
Overall, our dining experience was 👍👍👍. Would like to go back and try out their other dishes because they have a lot on their menu. Will definitely pig out! haha!

Northpine Land was very generous to give us this pasalubong to take home. The popular cheese bread from L.A Bakeshop. Believe me, the aroma of this freshly-baked cheese bread is heavenly!. I can’t stop sniffing it promise. Amoy pa lang masarap na! But wait till you taste it. You will definitely love it. I love it as it is, but if they will make the bread more softer and chewy, it’s gonna be PERFECT.
It’s not just good cheese bread that they are offering, they have other breads and short order dishes that I would love to try out. Maybe on my next trip to Pampanga.

I know that there’s so much more to see, learn and explore in Pampanga. I can’t wait to do another tour there. Thank you so much Northpine Land Inc. for this opportunity. It was a fun and memorable trip. ❤️❤️❤️
One of the cutest and adorable places that I’ve ever been to during our Korea trip, SOKCHO’S TEDDY BEAR FARM. Yes, there is such a thing as teddy bear farm in Korea. This is a place where kids and kid-at-heart will surely enjoy(well, if you love teddy bears of course).
Located in Sokcho, South Korea, the Teddy Bear Farm features a gallery of the unique lifestyle of Sokcho people. But instead of using human-like figures, they use different teddy bears to recreate and re-live the life of its people. Will upload a video soon. 🙂
When I saw these teddy bears, I can’t help saying “Awwwwww” they are sooooooo cute! as most of the teddy bears are wearing cute clothes and costumes. Some teddy bears are displayed doing mountain-climbing, skiing, playing golf, sun tanning and many more!
There are also galleries of life-sized teddy bears where you can actually take some photos as if you were a part of it. It was really fun!
Visitors can purchase teddy bears at the gift shop located in the front desk(entance of the building) and they are also offering some hands-on programs for teddy bear fans.(Honestly, i actually don’t know what are in store for those who will sign-up for the program).

Philippine International Convention Center. The very first international convention center ever made in Asia.
PICC was built on July 23, 1975 during the Marcos regime under the Presidential Decree no. 520. Former President Ferdinand Marcos mandated Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas(it was called Central Bank of the Philippinesback then) to build a convention center for the Philippines to host the 1976 International Monetary Fund-World Bank Annual Meeting. He envisioned it to be a “hospitable meeting place of people and nations, where they may debate their ideas.”
National Artist for Architecture, Leandro V. Locsin was appointed to make this vision a reality. He used and applied Brutalist architectural aesthetics which was popular that time and on September 5, 1976, PICC was formally launched.
It’s actually my first time to set foot on PICC. I usually go to nearby establishments there, but I have only seen PICC from afar or just passed by it. When I got the chance to tour around(even just patrs of it) I did not miss the opportunity.
When I enter the main hallway, I was able to appreciate these warm and artistic lightings. I find it very interesting and different, because I have never seen this kind of lighting design before. Ever. It’s a vision. Considering how long the establishment has been, I never imagined that it can be this beautiful and well maintained.
PICC as a venue for ALL occasions.
As you may know, PICC houses different venue facilities suited for each occasion(45 venues to be exact) where it can host from 10 up to 10,000 guests. WOW! Name it, and they’ll have a venue for you. From meetings, to conventions, gala, assemblies, summits, break out sesions, exhibits, seminars, symposium, company parties, concerts and shows, trade fair, graduations, and even personal events such as debuts, birthdays, and weddings. They even have venues for outdoor events. Everything!
For meeting rooms, all are equipped with Simultaneous Interpretation System (SIS) which can cater 2 to 7 different languages. This is good if you have international delegates.
Soon, a 5,700sqm. PICC Trade and Exhibit Hall will rise in the vicinity. This is to replace the old tent-style exhibit venue with a newer and stronger structure.
One of the events which happened in one of PICC’s venues(Plenary Hall) which I attended recently was with the international stand-up comedian, Russell Peters. He made his stop here in the Philippines as part of his DEPORTED WORLD TOUR. Even though the venue is quite far from my home(I live in Rizal), I had a great experience. It was really a great show. Never a dull moment with Russell. He was really worth watching. Too bad I can’t take videos of him, but I totally understand because he has new set of jokes meant only for those who are watching his shows. Will just wait if they are going to put it online haha!
For social media-savvy like me, internet connection is important. For us bloggers…”Internet is life”😂. Thank God PICC has FREE WIFI and there’s no time limit! So if you need to connect to the internet to post on social media and surf, no problem! There are I think 3 open wifi networks available in the building. This is for the general public within the common areas inside the building. But if you have an event in a meeting room or function room, PICC has a dedicated wired and wireless local area network for an allocated internet connection specifically and exclusively accessible by those in the room.
On the other hand, if you happen to look for something to eat before going to a meeting, or while waiting for a show to start, you may head on to PICC’s Cafeteria located on the 2nd floor(Via Mare is PICC’s official food concessionaire). If you want to eat on a fine-dining set up, you may dine at Amorsolo.
PICC as a house for Arts
If you are the type of person who loves art, you would definitely appreciate PICC’s wide-array of art pieces made by local and international artists. It’s like you are inside a big art museum.
And speaking of museum, soon, one museum will rise(construction is actually ongoing) in the vicinity of PICC called MUSEO NG BANGKO SENTRAL NG PILIPINAS. The said museum is envisioned to be the symbol of the regeneration of the whole complex. It would feature money and art collections owned by BSP(Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas). This is really exciting right? I want to see old Filipino money used way before I was even born. Another cool destination for tourism and education within Manila.
Maybe you are wondering why BSP Museum. For those who did not know, Philippine International Convention Center is owned and maintained by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.( I just learned recently when I had a tour there.)
For four decades, Philippine International Convention Center has witnessed and hosted several momentous events in the Philippines such as Miss Universe 1994, Catholic Mass Media Award 1995-which was attended by the late Pope John Paul II, and the APEC Economic Leader’s Meeting 2015 just to mention a few. Up to now, it is standing strong and continues to render it’s services to present and future generations.
Events. Venue. Food. Art. History. Education. Tourism. ALL IN ONE PLACE!
