It was my first time to join the Robinsons Supermarket Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run that happened last July 3, 2016 at BGC, Taguig. This annual buddy run has been running for 9 consecutive years now and was being attended by different kind of runners and celebrity advocates of active lifestyle.
The said buddy run was Robinsons Supermarket’s testament for their commitment to promote a healthier lifestyle among Filipinos. I really love how Robinsons Supermarket create this kind of events, giving more awareness to people on how to be and stay fit.
To start off the 9th Robinsons Supermarket Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run, actress-host Regine Tolentino pumped up the crowd to an energetic Zumba dance routine.
It was then followed by power couple coaches Jim and Toni Saret who led the runners for a pre-run warm up exercises and post-run cool down exercises. Gretchen Ho and Robi Domingo were also present to the event.
Look at these crowd. So game, so energetic! Go! Go! Go! Break the dance floor!
Before the gun start, me and Rey decided to roam around first and visit some booths which are RSC’s wellness partners. All of which share Robinsons Supermarket’s mission to provide more health and wellness options to consumers.
Over 4,500 runners joined the 9th Robinsons Supermarket Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run for the 5k and 10k races where top finishers of each category each took home the following:
5K Run: 2nd & 3rd Placers received Php8,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates, 1st Placer won a 3D/2N trip for 2 with accommodations to El Nido, Palawan.
10K Run: 2nd & 3rd Placers received Php15,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates, 1st Placer won a 3D/2N trip for 2 with accommodations to Bali, Indonesia.
Wow! Amazing prizes right?!
So me and my running buddy, Rey Belen of Lifestylebucket.com joined the 5k race together with other blogger colleagues who also run with the same category and 10K category respectively.
Wooooohoooo!!! 1 more kilometer to go! Almost there. It is always nice to run with someone on races like this. You never get bored, there’s someone who will push you, pull you up whenever you feel tired. Someone who will boost your morale whenever you feel like giving up. Thanks hon.
And so we’re done! Finally! We reached the finish line. 🙂
Each runner got to take home one goodie bag each full of items from the sponsors of the event. Everyone went home happy not just because of these goodies, but also the great experience and learning that the 9th Robinsons Supermarket Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run has given them. Looking forward to join again next year. 🙂
