Rapoo E9100M Multi-Mode Wireless Ultra-Slim Keyboard: A Quick Review

As a freelance content creator, I see to it that I make use of my time to do different tasks and accomplish things according to my day to day plan. To increase my productivity, I usually organize the things that I need within my reach for a faster workflow. I have my notes, my phone, and I usually work on my laptop and remotely connect it on my desktop computer. I love to multi-task, and having a good tool that will help me accomplish more would be good.

So I got this Rapoo E9100M Multi-Mode Wireless Ultra-Slim Keyboard few weeks ago and took it for a test. Check out if this keyboard is for you and know more what this cool keyboard from Rapoo can do. Here’s my quick review.

DESIGN:

Out of the package, the Rapoo E9100M Multi-Mode Wireless Ultra-Slim Keyboard looks modern and elegant. It’s actually a very aesthetically pleasing keyboard which I like for my workspace. Its base is made with aluminum alloy, so it feels light and sturdy when carried or placed on the table.

Slightly compact compared to normal keyboard, it’s really nice that Rapoo were able to fit in the numeric keypad which is usually not available on some keyboards of this kind.

In front you’ll see the Chiclet keys and scissor key structure which is very comfortable to use and  helps very well in typing accurately.

At the back you’ll find the ON/OFF switch. There’s no indicator light though to determine whether the keyboard is on or off. Alongside with the on and off switch is the battery compartment which houses two pre-installed AAA Batteries(comes with the package for free). Within the battery compartment, there’s a slot beside the batteries where you can put the USB Bluetooth Dongle so it won’t get misplaced when not in use.

You’ll also be impressed with Rapoo E9100M’s ultra-slim design with only 4.9 mm thickness. Compared its thickness to a one peso coin and they are almost the same. That’s how slim this keyboard is and I love it!.(see photo above)

CONNECTIVITY, PAIRING, CONTROLS AND USAGE

Pairing the Rapoo E9100M Multi-Mode Wireless Ultra-Slim Keyboard is really easy. Just switch the E9100M on and your Bluetooth setting on your device. Once detected(keyboard is at least 60 seconds discoverable), you can pair it to your chosen device already.

Here’s a step by step tutorial on how you can connect your devices to your Rapoo E9100M keyboard.

Another cool feature of the E9100M is the Multi-Mode Wireless technology where you can pair and switch between 4 devices via bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 connectivity which is really an advantage if you are in for multi-tasking.

If you want to connect the fourth device, you can use the 2,4Ghz wireless USB dongle best suited for laptops and desktops that has USB hub.

To switch between devices, simply press and hold the Function Key(Fn) located at the left lower part of the keyboard and press the channel button 1, 2, 3, or 4 -whichever paired device you want to use.

Typing using the Rapoo E9100M is such a breeze, it’s almost real time, and does not lag. I actually like the feel of each keys when typing and the sound it makes is just subtle and soft. Connection is very stable as well and can function up to 10m range, 360° coverage. Plus it is compatible with multiple devices that runs on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10, macOS, iOS, Android, Chrome OS.

It also has other functions that you can conveniently use for office and school tasks such as Forward/Back button, Homepage, and email. You can use it also to control some multimedia player functions such as Play, Stop, Previous/Next track, Mute, Volume Up and Volume Down. So if you are watching a movie or listening to music while working, it’s so easy control it via this keyboard.

The only downside is that it is not rechargeable, though when it comes to battery life, the brand claims that it can last up to 12 months. I cannot prove this at this point because as of now after using for almost two weeks, the battery is still ok and working.

VERDICT:

For me, the Rapoo E9100M Multi-Mode Wireless Ultra-Slim Keyboard can really offer  convenience and increased productivity for those who will be using it. Aside from the nice slim design which is compact enough not to get a huge space in your workstation, it can connect to multiple devices too without a hassle. It can also multi-function. So… would I recommend it? Definitely!
