HONOR has officially unveiled the HONOR Robot Phone, a new category of smartphone that combines artificial intelligence, robotic movement, and advanced mobile photography in a single device.
Positioned as more than a conventional smartphone, the Robot Phone features a fully integrated mechanical gimbal that allows its camera system to physically move and track subjects. The device also incorporates selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows, giving creators a more advanced mobile filmmaking experience.
The global launch marks another major step in HONOR’s evolution as an AI device ecosystem company.
A 4DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal Built Into the Phone
One of the Robot Phone’s most distinctive features is its 4DoF mechanical gimbal system, powered by HONOR’s Titanium Agile Gimbal technology.
HONOR says the system was developed through 60 manufacturing processes and incorporates more than 100 precision components, supported by more than 100 patents. Compared with conventional gimbal systems, the company has reduced its overall size by 65 percent while increasing structural strength by 200 percent.
The 2.6g Titanium Gimbal Motor can reach movement speeds of up to 360 degrees per second, while the HONOR Super Steel Flip Motor delivers a torque density of 120 N·m/L. Together, these components allow the camera to move quickly and accurately while remaining integrated into a pocket friendly flagship smartphone.
HONOR and ARRI Bring Cinematic Imaging to Mobile
The Robot Phone also marks the first product milestone from the HONOR and ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership.
Rather than relying solely on smartphone filters, the collaboration brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows into a mobile device.
The Robot Phone features a dual 200MP camera system. Its main camera is a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28 inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera featuring a 1/1.4 inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. A 50MP ultra wide camera with a 122 degree field of view completes the camera setup.
The 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera supports 10 bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, giving creators greater flexibility when editing footage.
The system combines ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and ARRI Looks with the HONOR H1 Image Chip. HONOR says its AI noise reduction technology can improve video signal to noise ratio by up to 8 dB, while AI dynamic range optimization supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.
For creators, the workflow is designed to preserve more image information from capture through post production. Video processing takes place earlier in the RAW domain, with data processed in 14 bit 4:4:4 before being output in 10 bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video.
ARRI Looks can also be previewed in real time, giving creators a better idea of the final cinematic appearance while recording. Footage can then be brought into professional editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, where ARRI LUTs can be applied during post production.
According to Harald Brendel, Director of Image Science at ARRI, the partnership explores how established cinematic principles can be adapted for a new generation of mobile creators.
AI Turns the Phone Into a Personal Camera Crew
The Robot Phone takes hands free content creation further with AI powered motion control integrated into MagicOS.
Its camera arm supports several movement modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View, FPV Vertical, and AI SpinShot, giving users more options for capturing dynamic footage.
The phone’s YOYO Robot Mode combines multimodal perception, contextual understanding, gesture recognition, and physical movement. Features such as Voice Source Localization and AI Live Tracking allow the camera to automatically pan and tilt to keep users in frame while they vlog, livestream, or participate in video calls.
Users can also use hands free gestures to deploy the camera arm and capture images or video without physically touching the phone.
Beyond photography and video, YOYO Auto Execution allows the system level AI agent to understand user intentions and carry out complex, multi step actions across supported apps and system settings.
HONOR is also opening the platform to third party developers through its Agent Skills interface, which allows developers to create new experiences using the phone’s gimbal, perception, and embodied interaction capabilities.

The HONOR Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, providing flagship level performance for AI processing, photography, video recording, and multitasking.
An advanced custom cooling system is designed to manage heat during demanding tasks such as extended video recording.
The phone is equipped with a 7,060mAh HONOR Silicon Carbon Battery and supports 120W wired HONOR SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging.
Its design features an Android first all metal integrated molding unibody, giving the device a premium look while housing its sophisticated mechanical camera system.
On the front is a 6.31 inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display protected by HONOR NanoCrystal Shield.
