Teluk Chempedak Beach

MY Side Trip: Teluk Chempedak Beach

Our last day in Malaysia. So, we had some few stops before heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, one of those was Teluk Chempedak Beach in Kuantan, Pahang. I’m not a beach person but I really enjoyed our quick tour to this place.

Teluk Chempedak Beach

Teluk Chempedak Beach is located 5 kilometers away and about 10-15-minute drive from the Kuantan Center proper facing the South China Sea. This beach’ scenery is one of the main attractions in Kuantan that tourists and even locals do visit.

It is a public beach so everyone can enjoy this beautiful scenery for free.  This beach is also a good location for water sports activities such as swimming, kayaking, jet-skiing and surfing.

But if you are not into these kind of activities, you can still enjoy Teluk Chempedak and do other things like sun bathing, watch the waves breaking on the shore, build sandcastles, do foodtrip at the restaurants and food stalls with the beach view, or watch the beautiful sunset while walking along the shore.

Another non-water activity that I saw during our short trip was this TC Kids Track. You can enjoy this go cart activity for RM10/10 mins. This is just located along the shore so you will never miss this spot.

I can still remember the warm breeze coming from the South China Sea. The waves were slightly calm during our tour but during monsoon season which is from November to March, the waves can be quite rough and water activities are not recommended for safety.

Too bad we were just given about 30 mins to wander around the place, So I didn’t have the luxury of time to check and see everything there. Maybe next time, when I return again. 🙂

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan is a two-and-half hour away from the East Coast Expressway (ECE). Alternatively, there are 2-3 daily flights from KLIA to Kuantan Airport (KUA). And from Kuantan, it’s just a 10-15-minute bus ride to Teluk Chempedak Beach.

Travelling to Malaysia soon? Air Asia Philippines will soon have Manila-Kuala Lumpur flights 3x daily starting Oct 29, and Cebu -Kuala Lumpur flights 4x weekly starting Oct 30, 2016.
